Frequently Asked Questions

About Shouta®

What is Shouta®?

Shouta® is an Australian first nano-gifting® App that lets you shout anyone a gift as a token of your thoughts. In Shouta®, you can send and receive shouts (nano-gifts®) like coffee, drinks and more. You can also customise your own gift.

What is a nano-gift®?

So glad you asked! We like to think of nano-gifts® as small gestures that you can send to someone to let them know you're thinking of them. Shouta® is perfect for celebrating or commiserating all life's mini moments: good ones like promotions and thanking someone and bad ones like break ups and apologising for running late.

Is Shouta® secure?

Shouta® follows all the best practices to keep your information secure, and we only use PCI DSS compliant services. All payments are processed with 3D Secure.

Any fees?

We charge a service fee of 7% on the total of your shout. For example, if you shout someone a coffee for $5, we'll add on a service fee of 35c. The fees cover the running costs of the App, GST, the issuing of the prepaid card, and the infrastructure to support the program. We hope you'll send and receive shouts so you see for yourself what a great experience we have created.

When paying for shouts, we suggest using a debit card as some credit cards may attract a cash advance fee which is not in Shouta's control.

Spending shouts

How are shouts spent?

It's simple!

To spend online, get your card details from the Card page in the App.

How do I use my Shouta® Mastercard?

Please follow the prompts from the App to add your card into your digital wallet. You can also do this in your profile by clicking "Add card to wallet"

If you have an iPhone, the card will be added to your Apple Wallet and if you have an Android device, the card will be added to Google Pay. Google Pay must then be set as your default wallet in order to use Shouta™ Mastercard.

Once your card is added to your wallet, simply open the wallet, swipe to the Shouta™ card, then tap and pay. (Make sure NFC is enabled on your phone)

Why is my card declining when I try to spend my shouts?

This will happen for 2 reasons:

1. You do not have enough funds on the card to cover the payment amount. Try a split payment.
2. If using an Android phone, make sure Google Pay is set to your default wallet.
